Milestone Events

Hi everyone…this is my very first blog post since I’ve been here with Tanya so first and foremost I would like to introduce myself, I am Tanya’s right hand woman and partner in crime, Danica. I promise we will put some pictures up soon! It’s been tons of fun learning the ropes here at milestones and I can’t wait to see what next wedding season brings!

 

So here’s a little something I’ve learned…limo companies can sometimes be difficult to deal with while planning the transportation section of your wedding. However, I have found the solution! I was tired of never getting a response from Limo companies, so I called around to a few new ones that Tanya had suggested just to check them out and make a last minute booking. I came across Excel limousine and wow what a fresh breath of air!! They were so kind, helpful, timely and efficient it blew me away! They squeezed us into their schedule with little notice no problem or questions asked. Right after I got off the phone with Excel they had already emailed me the contract! That never happens!  And before I could even get around to filling out all necessary paper work and sending it back, Excel was calling me to go over final details! Needless to say I was excited! Anyways…I had to share because Tanya and I were thoroughly impressed and look forward to much business together in the future! So if you ever need a good limo company…these are your guys!

 

I just found out that another fabulous venue has some great dates open.  Northview Golf and Country Club on 168th in Surrey has one of the most amazing plated services in Surrey, breathtaking views and beautiful manicured gardens.  This is definately up there on my list of favorite places to host a wedding.  And they still have Saturday dates open!  June 6 and June 20 are both still open so give them a call, or let me know if I can help you out.  www.northviewgolf.com.Â

This little store at 5 corners is my favorite little gift store in the whole world.  And they are having SALE this weekend!  Make sure you visit House of DeLovely at Langley’s 5 corners.  Hey brides…this is a great place to get favors!!!

Here is some information for brides who are looking after their own bar for their reception.

There are some new governement rules that you need to know:

First you will have to go to your local Liquor Store and pick up an Special Occasion License application.  Talk to the store manager at this time about how much liquor to buy for your event based on the number of people attending.

You need to take your Serving It Right course in order to complete the process.  If you have your Serving It Right certificate already (course completed prior to June 2007) you will need to take the course again and get re-certified as the course is new. 

You then will have to take your completed application and a copy of your Serving It Right certificate to the local police detachment in the city in which the event is being held and advise them that you are hosting an event.   Only then can you go to the Liquor Store and complete the license process.
