No commentsThe Big Grand Opening
So we have officially opened our doors. Well, we did in May but with wedding season and the nuttiness that that brings we weren’t able to do the big party until now. And did we ever celebrate! It has been a long, long haul to get here and I have many friends and family to thank: my husband, Wes, who continually hands me my dreams on a silver platter, never says no and loves me more than anyone. My parents who built and designed this amazingly beautiful space for me (no contractors, no construction guys…just my mom and my dad and my amazing husband!) and put up with, well just everything. Not many people have parents that do as much for them as my parents do for us. I am grateful. My friends: who put up with us being completely incommunicative for a whole year, and are still our friends. The Gilmore’s who dropped everything to lend a hand; the Hulstra’s who are always present, with offers to help even though they have their own stuff to deal with; Jeanette for design advice, wine thirty, and just getting it. The Marliss’ for the ear and letting me rant about the unhelpful desk at the city of Surrey; The Speirings who give us amazing gifts: their time, their friendship, a set of stairs :o).Â
I also am thankful for my brides who continually support me and inspire me. If it was not for you (all of you…even from the very beginning) I would not be who and where I am today. I thank you.
So, without much further ado, I am happy to show off our new studio. The following video is a gift from the insanely talented Love Story Media:
Cheers,

No commentsWedding Fair…
Another crazy weekend at Wedding Fair 2009. We had so much fun hanging out with old friends, meeting some new ones, and getting to know a whole new set of brides. If the show was any indication of what to expect for the coming season, I am totally looking forward to working with some fabulous new ladies!Â
We also had the honour of sharing first place for best booth at the show this weekend…we got to bring home a crazy big trophy…it was a real honor to be selected.
Special thanks to Tracy from La Belle Fleur (www.labellefleur.com) for hooking me up with the two tall arrangements and to Jeanette from House of Delovely in Langley for letting me raid her store (www.houseofdelovely.com).Â
Here are some pics of our booth taken by my good friend, the fabulous Erin Gilmore (www.eringilmorephotography.com) who was at the show handing out free copies of AisleWalk (www.aisle-walk.com). If you didn’t get one let me know…this is a magazine you can’t live without!
No commentsBig News!
I love the beginning of wedding season! It brings new couples, new ideas, and new things into our reportoire of stock available to our brides and grooms.
Coming this May we will be adding chocolate and ivory satin chaircovers in addition to the white we already carry. We also have a number of new sashes. All of our sashes are either satin or taffeta for a little extra luxe! Here’s a list of the sashes we have available: black, chocolate, cherry red, turquioise, aqua, pink, purple, apple green and ivory. New ones are being added all the time so if you don’t see your colour on the list, just ask!

No commentsWedding Fair 2008
Wedding Fair this year was amazing! We had such a great time, met so many excited brides and got to hang out with all my wedding industry friends. We even had a proposal! Jessica & Corey weren’t engaged yet but they thought they would come to see what there was to see since they were thinking about getting hitched soon. They stopped by our booth and we really hit it off with promises of meeting up when the big event finally transpired.
So what does Corey do? They finish looking around and then he takes her to the fountains in front of the Pan Pacific and gets down on one knee. They come running back in to show me the new ring with a shaking hand and a glorious grin. And I can hardly wait to meet them this Saturday! Congratulations you guys!
We also had alot of press at the show. We were on Global news at 6 and 11 on Saturday as well as the morning news on Sunday. Last night we were featured on Shaw’s “The Express” and it was an awesome experience!
My good friend Erin Gilmore (www.eringilmorephotography.com) took some amazing pictures of my booth for those of you who didn’t make it out. The stationery was designed by the talented Tammy Lyon of Uniquity Invitations (www.uniquityinvitations.com). The rental goddesses at Pedersen’s supplied the linens, chairs, plates, stemware and flatware. Thanks a lot girls! I appreciate it. Also a big thanks to Jeanette from Delovely and Erin from Kirby’s for all of their help too…I am blessed with amazing friends.
All in all a terrific weekend and I can hardly wait until next year!

No commentsWedding Fair has a new home!
As the winter season approaches many brides and grooms are planning on attending all of the winter wedding shows. The largest, most popular of these is Wedding Fair that traditionally takes place on the first weekend after New Years at the Westin Bayshore.Â
This year the shows producers have had to change the venue: Wedding Fair will now take place at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Center: www.vcec.ca. The venue is more spacious and has easier parking so it is a plus for both vendors and brides alike.
Please come down for a visit January 5th & 6th to the Sails…we’ll be there along with Vancouvers’s best event professionals so be sure to say hello!

No commentsGreat idea!
Many brides are starting to consider stationery for their weddings at this time of year. There is a really cool local company offering a very unique service: DIY invitation templates. The company is called Unitquity Invitations and you can visit them on the web here: www.uniquityinvitations.com
You can customize colours and fonts and embellish them anyway you like…a cheap and easy way of creating custom invitations! If there isn’t one you like, for a small fee, Uniquity can design one for you, post it on their site and name it after you…how cool is that?
